Privacy Statement for applicants

1Bite Foods processes personal data of its applicants. 1Bite Foods believes that it is essential to handle personal data with the utmost care and is committed to respecting the privacy of anyone whose personal data it processes. This privacy statement explains how 1Bite Foods deals with the personal data of job applicants.

What kind of personal data is processed?

We may process the following categories of personal data about you: your name, address and other contact details, date of birth, gender, photograph if applicable, work experience, education and other personal data, which you have actively provided us with by sending your application letter and curriculum vitae or, which you disclose during one of your job interviews. In some cases, we may also process personal data that we have obtained from other sources. Examples include personal data obtained via social media.

For which purposes and on what basis is your data processed?

1Bite Foods processes personal data about you to determine your suitability for the position you have applied for or a position that may become open. In addition, during the application process, 1Bite Foods compares applicants’ personal data with the job vacancy(ies) and related qualifications in order to make a proper selection of applicants. 1Bite Foods may also process your personal data to contact you with a view to getting to know you better. In some cases, we will screen your profile on social networks for business purposes and/or contact references you have personally provided to us. In doing this, we will collect and process only that personal data, which is necessary and relevant for the performance of the job that you have applied for.

1Bite Foods has a legitimate interest in processing your personal data for the above purposes. It has a legitimate interest in recruiting employees who are as closely matched as possible to the job.

1Bite Foods may process your personal data if it is required to do so by law. For example, to comply with a court order or a request from an investigative authority.

Finally, 1Bite Foods processes personal data if you have given your consent. For example, where you have given us your consent to store your cover letter and curriculum vitae in our database for a period of one year. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. This withdrawal does not prevent the legality of the processing on the basis of the consent prior to the withdrawal.

Sharing personal data with third parties

Personal data will only be forwarded to third parties for the purposes mentioned in this privacy statement and only when based on the grounds specified in this privacy statement. We may disclose your personal data to the following categories of third parties, among others, in the following cases:

1. We may provide your personal information to IT service providers who assist us in keeping our software systems secure and stable;
2. for the storage of your personal data, we use a cloud service provider;
3. in order to have your personal data deleted in a proper way, we may use a data disposal company;

Other than that, we will only disclose your personal data to third parties with your prior consent if this is necessary to protect our interests or if we are required to do so by law and/or according to regulations.

Any third parties that we provide your personal information to are themselves responsible for compliance with privacy laws. We cannot be held responsible or liable for the processing of your personal data carried out by these third parties. If a third party processes your personal data on our behalf in the capacity of a processor, then it is different, in which case we enter into a processor agreement with such a third party that complies with the rules arising from the GDPR.

As a matter of principle, 1Bite Foods will not pass on your personal data to any third country (countries outside the European Economic Area) or international organisation.

Protection of personal data

We take appropriate security measures to prevent any misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised alteration of your personal data. Among other things, we ensure that access to your personal data is restricted to individuals with a legitimate need, that access to your personal data is shielded, that our website is protected by information security techniques (such as firewalls) and that our security measures are regularly audited (by external parties). Retention period

1Bite Foods will not retain your personal data beyond the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for, which the personal data was collected or to comply with applicable laws and/or regulations. 1Bite Foods will retain most of your personal data for up to four weeks after the completion of the application process, unless you have given us permission to retain your personal data for a longer period with a view to any subsequent vacancies. In that case, we will retain your personal data for up to one year from the time you gave your consent. If you are hired for a position at 1Bite Foods, the information on processing personal data contained in the employee privacy statement applies from the moment of the commencement of your employment.

Your rights

You have the right to review, correct or remove your personal data. In addition, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted, the right to object to the processing of your personal data and the right to data portability. The last of these means that you can make a request to receive the personal data that we process from you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or forward these to an organisation specified by you.

If you would like to exercise any of your rights, please send your request to info@1bite.nl In order to prevent abuse, we may ask you to identify yourself by sending us a copy of a valid identification document before processing your request. Please make sure that your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone), passport number and Citizen Service Number are blacked out in this copy. You can use the ‘ KopieID-app’ from the Dutch government for this purpose. This is to protect your privacy.

We will respond to your request as promptly as possible, and within one month at the latest. Of course, we are happy to help if you have any complaints about the processing of your personal data. If you are still unable to resolve the matter with us, then we would like to point out that you have the option of submitting a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. This Privacy Statement was last revised on 1 October 2021. We reserve the right to unilaterally amend this privacy statement. We therefore recommend that you consult this statement regularly so that you are kept informed of any changes.
